PG ShootThe Queen City FFA Shooting Sports Team opened up the 2018 round of competitive shooting at the Pleasant Grove Shotgun Club Trap Warm-Up on Saturday, February 10th.

Eveyn Upchurch, Garrett Beckham, Walker Kennedy, and Easton Fincher braved the wet weather and thick mud to compete against some of the best youth shooting teams in our area, most of whom we have never before met in competition.
It was a day of firsts all around. This was our first experience with the new Rocky Creek Outdoors shooting complex in Texarkana, AR, the boys first time to shoot sporting clays and 5 stand, and this was Eveyn Upchurch's competitive debut as a shooter on our team.

The Queen City FFA team walked away with a score of 238, firmly placing us in the top half of youth teams in our area and giving us high hopes for a competitive season. If you see any of these boys, congratulate them on a great start. Some of them will be traveling to San Antonio later this week to compete in the San Antonio Livestock Show Junior Shoot-Out. Our next local competition is the Linden-Kildare FFA Trap Competition on February 24th at Maud Gun Club.
